Thirteen years in the making, Ghost Brothers of Darkland County is a gothic tale of fraternal love, lust, jealousy and revenge that premiered at Atlanta’s Alliance Theater in the Spring of 2012 to sold-out crowds. Plans for additional productions of the musical in 2013 are underway.
Ghost Brothers of Darkland County is a very special, personal project for King and Mellencamp, who were both interviewed for the CDs and DVD included in this volume and talk about their collaboration.
As Stephen King says: “John can make rock & roll records and I can write books for the rest of our lives, but that’s the safe way to do it, and that’s no way to live if you want to stay creative. We were willing to be educated, and at our age, that’s an accomplishment.”

The libretto includes Stephen King’s full script of the play plus handwritten lyrics and other notes from the production. CDs will include music and dialog excerpts. DVD will feature interview footage with Stephen, John and T Bone plus footage of John recording the show-closing song “Truth.”
The all-star cast for the CDs includes Elvis Costello, Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Neko Case, Ryan Bingham and Kris Kristofferson, along with actors Matthew McConaughey, Samantha Mathis, and Meg Ryan.
